Mental illness however refers to something more chronic.

  

Something extraordinary can and will happen in you.

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, ‘Will you give me a drink?’ (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, ‘You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?’ (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans). Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.’ ‘Sir,’ the woman said, ‘you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?’ Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’ The woman said to him, ‘Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.’

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

What was the problem with the woman at the well?

Two kinds of life: Physical and Spiritual.

Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.

“Living waters” is an old testament metaphor for “Spirit” and “Truth.” 

Spirit: Christ in us!

Truth: God’s word in us.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

Spirit: Christ’s power

Truth: Christ’s word.

The Word and the Spirit bring life that begins way down deep and flows outward to all its parts!

  

...the Joy of the Lord is my strength.

-Nehemiah 8:10

When we are experiencing joy on a soul level in our bellies or intestines, deep down inside, there is a naturally perfectly balanced productivity of serotonin.

  

'You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.’

'Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. How to cure most mental illnesses:

  

Step One: Balance the Serotonin Levels.

  

Step Two: Submit to the Work God is doing in you.

  

Step Three: Renew Your Mind.

  

We are the people of God but the whole world lies under the sway of the evil one.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Be transformed: Greek: Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis: To make a change in the outward appearance which truly reflects what is on the inside.

The process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form.
