The Way Forward

1. What is meant by the phrase, “God’s Word is a roadmap for life.”? How do you treat it as such?


2. According to an article, the 10 worst habits for mental health are perfectionism, poor posture, guilt, lack of exercise, a failure mindset, overuse of social media, overuse of a smartphone, regret, co-dependency, and poor sleep. What is your weak area and how can you strengthen it?

3. Read Psalm 46:1-3, 10. How does this Psalm help you?

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake…. Be still and know that I am God.

4. Some of the factors in society that contribute to worsening mental health are deconstruction of the nuclear family, “woke” school agendas, absent fathers, sexual exposure, cyberbullying, and a selfie-taking, media-addicted culture. Which of these is most real to you? Why?


5. The speaker talked about warning signs in our bodies that may indicate declining mental health. Do you recall what they were? Discuss.


6. The speaker gave a definition of trauma as, “not the story of something that happened back then, but the current imprint of that pain, horror, and fear living inside the individual.” How is this definition different from the definition you might have?
