Outreach Weekend 2025 Part 2
Devotional Thought
Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’
-Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
Jesus’ final command was clear, urgent, and global: “Go and make disciples.” This is not a task reserved for a few, but a call for all believers. It is not an optional ministry of the church; it is the very heartbeat of the church.
The mission of God moves forward when the people of God move in unity. Through the work of ministries like Central India Christian Mission, we witness how obedience to the Great Commission leads to transformation—churches planted, leaders raised up, Bibles translated, children saved, and unreached people hearing the Gospel.
And yet, the task is not finished. The fields are still ripe, the workers still few, and the message still urgent. Jesus not only calls us to go, He promises His authority and His presence as we go. Whether we are sending, supporting, or going ourselves, we are all part of the same mission—ONE TEAM, under the authority of Christ.
1. How do you personally respond to Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples”?
Does it feel optional, overwhelming, or empowering?
2. What part of the mission work described (e.g., church planting, training leaders, Bible translation, online outreach) most inspired or challenged you? Why?
3. Acts 1:8 promises that we will receive power to be witnesses “to the ends of the earth.”
How have you experienced the Holy Spirit equipping you to share your faith?
4. In the message, a cricket analogy was used—God doesn’t want spectators, He wants players.
What does “getting off the bench” look like in your life? What step could you take this week?
5. Jesus ends His command with a promise: “I am with you always.”
How does this truth comfort or motivate you as you consider stepping into mission?
6. Reflect on your own spiritual journey.
Who “went” so you could hear the Gospel? How might God be calling you to do the same for someone else?
Action Step
Reflect on your own mission field. Where has God placed you to be His ambassador? Take 15 minutes of quiet this week to ask the Holy Spirit:
“Where are you sending me?”
“Who are you calling me to reach?”
“What fears or excuses are holding me back?”
Write down what you sense and share it with your group next week.
