Devotional Thought
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
-Psalm 119:105
Life often feels like a wilderness—confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes even dangerous. Whether we’re facing relational strain, financial stress, or personal burnout, the path forward can be unclear. In this message, Dawn shared how her near-disastrous mountain hike was redeemed by a simple cairn—a stack of stones marking the trail ahead. Spiritually, we also have cairns: markers of God’s faithfulness, placed by Him and others who have gone before us, to guide us through our wildernesses.
God is not surprised by our circumstances. He already knows the way through. He’s the same God who split the sea, shut the mouths of lions, and walked through fire with His people. His love and power are timeless.
We’re not alone, and we’re not without direction. Through His Word, His promises, and the testimonies of others, God is placing cairns in front of us—one at a time—lighting just enough of the path to take the next step. When life overwhelms, we can pray: “Lord, show me the next cairn.”
