Trust Issues | Mike Breaux
God longs for a relationship with people like us. People like us broke the relationship. So God moved throughout history to restore the broken relationship with people like us.
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had US in mind, had settled on US as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt US into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted US to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
-Ephesians 1:4-6 (Msg)

The Scriptures tell us that, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.
-Romans 4:3 (NLT)
God keeps His covenants.
Covenant = ‘Berith’
Covenant-keeping = ‘Chesed’
Berith refers to a covenant; but chesed means covenant-keeping. Chesed means actually DOING what was pledged ... even if it's hard. Chesed means you are keeping the covenants in your life. It means you are willing to go the distance to keep your promises.
And God ALWAYS does that.
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
-Numbers 23:19 (NIV)
God's track record is impeccable. GOD ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES.
That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, 'I have made you the father of many nations.' This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.
-Romans 4:17 (NLT)
To trust is to be convinced of the reliability of God.
-Brennan Manning - Ruthless Trust
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
-Hebrews 11:11-12 (NLT)
God can do ANYTHING, literally anything, EXCEPT ... break His promises. Therefore I will not let my circumstances dictate my faith, because He is the ultimate PROMISEKEEPER.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful
-Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)
To trust is to be convinced of the reliability of God. HE KEEPS HIS PROMISES. YOU CAN BELIEVE HIM.
