Devotional Thought
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
-Proverbs 3:5–6
Life often turns out differently than we planned. We imagine a future that’s steady and full of meaning—but what we get instead is a lot more complicated. Plans fall apart, relationships stretch thin, jobs disappoint, or the things we hoped would bring joy leave us feeling empty or unnoticed.
Scripture reminds us that trusting God isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about surrendering what we can’t control and trusting that He hasn’t lost sight of us. Like Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, who poured out her soul to God through years of disappointment, or Tabitha in Acts 9, whose quiet faithfulness changed lives—our unseen efforts matter. And like Paul, who learned that God’s power is made perfect in weakness, we are reminded that our strength is not the point—His grace is.
We live in a culture that rewards visibility, speed, and success. But the Kingdom of God often grows in quiet places, through ordinary people doing unseen things with extraordinary love. You don’t have to be enough. You just have to be honest, available, and willing to trust that Jesus already is.
Wherever you are today—exhausted, unsure, hopeful, or searching—Jesus meets you there. You’re not invisible. You’re not forgotten. And you’re not alone.
