10 Bible Verses on Grace

Webster’s dictionary defines grace as the “unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification.” But what does it truly mean to receive God’s grace? Alexander Whyte puts it this way: “Grace, then, is grace,–that is to say, it is sovereign, it is free, it is sure, it is unconditional, and it is everlasting.”

Jesus makes God’s grace possible. He allows us to be fully reunited with our Maker, after sin and evil have destroyed everything, when all seems hopeless and lost—grace still remains.

If you’re feeling hopeless, lost, or undeserving of God’s grace, take a moment to read the following verses and be reminded of what His grace faithfully is and how your life can never be the same once you’ve received it.

1. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. - Romans 3:23-24
   
2. You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus. - 2 Timothy 2:1
   
3. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9
4. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. - Romans 6:14
5. Thus says the LORD: “The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.” - Jeremiah 31:2-3

7. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. - Romans 5:20

His grace allows His love to reach us, even in the deepest, darkest places in which we may find ourselves. In the midst of anger, failure, depression, loss, anxiety, hopelessness, heartbreak—whatever you may be struggling with, His grace is sufficient for you.
